A jerky maker kit has everything you need to make mouth watering jerky in your very own home. You can make beef jerky, turkey jerky, venison jerky, and jerky with just about any type of meat. Normally, a jerky making kit will include:
- A jerky gun for making jerky with ground meat

- Jerky cures and flavors
- Jerky dehydrator with many trays
A good jerky dehydrator should have enough trays to hold 2 lb of meat. 3 lb of meat dehydrates down to 1 lb of jerky.
The jerky gun should come with tips to allow you to make jerky strips and jerky sticks. Try to find a dehydrator with top to down air flow so the jerky drys faster and more evenly. Good airflow in the dehydrator saves time and its less work since you don't have to rotate the trays.
